1st XI Report 2025

2025 was a challenge for various reasons but, despite only winning 5 
games, the first team managed to stay in division 1. This was in no 
small part thanks to Nilesh's superb bowling, Jim's great keeping, and 
Gammo's all round excellence, and to everyone who was involved in 
the team for the season. Your efforts are all much appreciated by me 
and the club. I must also thank Greg, Mike and Sam for getting the 
teams together - I hope we can continue to do this for the coming year.
Thanks also to Andy for all of his work for the Sunday team. It's been a 
pleasure playing with you and helping you get a side out. We've had 
many good games and will have lots of good memories from 2025.
Alan and Fred did a great job looking after the grounds - a big thank 
you to you both, also to Jo for all the work you do for the fundraising, 
especially on the club day, and to the tea ladies who always provide the 
best teas for miles around! Thanks too to everyone who helped behind 
the bar this year.
Hopefully 2026 will bring a few more wins for the the team, and I'm sure 
the results will come with everyone pulling together on and off the field.
Lastly, I'd like to pay tribute to Peter Smith who will be sadly missed by 
me and by the club. He was a great club man and a true gentleman
